I am a cultural anthropologist, artist, and community educator based in Brooklyn, NY. My work examines the affective-liidinal structure of the regulation of sexuality, gender, race, and labor in the United States.
I am currently a research associate at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown University. Guest Faculty of Sociology at Sarah Lawrence College, and received my PhD from University of California Berkeley. I am currently at work on my first book, Fantasizing Prostitution, based on my ethnographic research on the BDSM sex economy in New York City.
I have been involved in the sex workers’ rights movement for several years, and work closely with including Kink Out, Bay Area Workers Support, and Red Canary Song.
